We limit the collection of personal information to what is reasonably required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. We collect personal information in the following ways:

Information You Provide Directly to Us
We collect information that you provide to us when you inquire about or purchase products and/or services through the AIL Properties or your use of any of our programs, content, or materials. If you refuse to provide any requested information (whether or not required), you may not be able to take full advantage of the AIL Properties and its features.

Information Provided from Business Partners and Service Providers
We may also collect personal information about you from third parties, such as consumer reporting agencies, your contacts, a social media site, or a plug-in you use to log into or connect to the AIL Properties. We may associate or combine the information you provide through the AIL Properties with the information collected from third parties.

Social Media
We may use different social media websites and applications to interact with you. Any information collected about you from our interactions with you or other users (e.g., any users who are connections of yours) is subject to the requirements and restrictions set out in our social media best practices, which we provide for our employees and insurance agents to follow.

Information Automatically Collected
When you use the AIL Properties, the server may automatically recognize you by a “cookie” or other tracking technology. These automatic data collection technologies act as unique identifiers and allow us to tailor the AIL Properties to your specified interests and keep track of your activity on the AIL Properties. This information may be added to your user profile and used to deliver offers and advertisements that we believe are relevant to your interests. For more information about how we use cookies, please visit our Cookie Policy.

Furthermore, we may retrieve certain information from your browser (e.g., browser type, referrer URL, date and time of your visit, IP address) and device (e.g., MAC address, device type, screen resolution, and OS version). We use this information to monitor the performance of the AIL Properties, analyze traffic patterns and usage, ensure that the AIL Properties and any related transactions function properly, and that they gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. This information may also be appended to your user profile so that we may further tailor the AIL Properties to your interests and send you offers based on such information. Please also see Choices and Access below for more information on how to manage your privacy preferences.

Our advertisers, publishers, and other third-party partners may also utilize third-party cookies and other tracking technologies like clear pixel GIFs (i.e., Web beacons) to identify you and monitor your activity on the AIL Properties. We and our third-party partners may use these technologies to measure responses to e-mails and page views on this website and on our third-party partners’ websites. You can opt out of some of our third-party partners’ use of cookies and other technologies, such as Microsoft, at http://optout.aboutads.info. You can also visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to opt out of Google Analytics. You can also opt out of some of our third-party partners’ use of cookies and other technologies using the Global Privacy Control on your device. Please visit https://globalprivacycontrol.org to learn more. We do not control these third-party partners’ technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the third-party partner directly.

Tracking Options and California Do Not Track Disclosures
Certain parts of the AIL Properties require “cookie” technologies (e.g., pixel tags), and we may use them to deliver more relevant advertising and to link data collected across other devices you use. You can adjust your settings to limit tracking (e.g., cookies or pixel tags), but as a result, you may not be able to use certain features of the AIL Properties or take full advantage of all of our offerings. Please refer to your device or browser settings for more information on how to delete or decline cookies and control your tracking preferences. The AIL Properties does not respond to do not track signals from most browsers. Please also see Choices and Access below for more information on how to manage your privacy preferences.
